CALIFORNIA JUNIOR ANGUS ASSOCIATION
2010 State Field Day
Stanislaus County Fairgrounds • Turlock, California

The California Angus Association and the California Junior Angus Association invite you to participate in the 2010 State Field Day being held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, California, May 29th and 30th. The following is information that should help to produce another wonderful show. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Bedding
: Bedding will not be provided. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning out stalls before leaving fairgrounds.

Classes: All classes will follow the American Angus Association rules. After steers are weighed classes will be broken into three divisions – Angus Steers, Black X Steers, and All Other Color Steers.

Show Categories: Bred and Owned Bulls, Bred and Owned Heifers, Owned Heifers, Cow/Calf (heifers may be exhibited in either Owned or Bred and Owned, not both). Champions will be selected in each category. Entries will be listed in order of age (youngest to oldest) and will be shown in the same order. All animals must be registered in the sole name of the exhibitor. Exhibitors must have the original registration certificate on each animal for inspection at the show. Any animal, upon check-in, which does not have a legible tattoo corresponding to its registration certificate is ineligible to show. Exhibitors must show their own animals, unless they have more than one animal in the same class. Juniors competing in this event must be at least 9 years of age and not yet 21 years of age as of January 1, 2010.

Due to popular request we are formatting our show classifications similar to the Western Regional Junior Angus Show, which is held in Reno, NV each year in April.

All breeding animals must be registered and tattooed prior to entering the grounds.

Entries must be postmarked by May 10th: Entry fees are $20 for breeding animals and $35 for steers. There will be a late fee of $15.00 per entry if not postmarked on or before May 10th. Original registration papers must be checked in prior to 12:00pm on Saturday, May 29, 2010. No duplicate or photocopied registration papers will be accepted.

Saturday Evening Potluck BBQ: Please plan on attending our Potluck BBQ. Everyone is invited to attend. It is a great way to get to know everyone involved in the CJAA. There will be games, prizes and great food. If you are interested in bringing an appetizer, salad, or dessert please contact Casey at (530) 514-2562

Queen Contest: Divisions are: Queen – age 16-21, Princess – age 13-15, Jr. Princess – age 9-12. Each division will participate in a showmanship contest. The Queen candidates will take a general knowledge quiz.
